So cute!! Shirley and Maple are adorably awkward, and I loved every visual aspect from the sprites to the BG to the UI- I never would have guessed this is your first foray into watercolor, wow! I hope Shirley finds a friend in Maple ❤
I honestly thought the process would be more difficult- I've done plenty of works just scanning in watercolors, but making them .pngs is a whole process onto itself.
Such a wonderful tale of Swirley & Maple, thoroughly enjoyed playing through Hot Cocoa Magic and gave a good few giggles with Swirley at times! Love the watercolours along with the visual effects of Swirley shaking at times, adds another layer of emotion behind a character! ^o^
I'm honestly pretty surprised I managed to do the music haha; it was a couple days before finishing and I just opened up FL studio just "to see what I could do" and ended up with something I really liked.
Your art is absolutely lovely, that's what initially caught my eye. The watercolour style is consistent and fits this adorable story wonderfully. Also loved the attention to detail in the character movements, like Shirley's footsteps and her occasional trembling. There's a lot to love here, the dialogue made me laugh multiple times, and it's a quick playthrough, so I'd recommend everyone should give it a spin! <3
